Ancestors and Elders
OUTLINE:
I want to recognize the ancestors and elders of the land and community. I want to invoke the
spirits that have walked on this land in a sacred way and then ask several members of community
to speak about an elder that has had an impact on us. Then I would like to follow it up with a few
people remembering important events of this gathering and sharing how this gathering has had a
spiritual impact on them and expressing their gratitude, to bring the group to a feeling of
connectedness and family. Then we drum and dance and party all night.
